Under the condition of a catalyst, the process of rearranging the molecular structure of hydrocarbons in the gasoline fraction into a new molecular structure is called catalytic reforming. One of the petroleum refining processes, under the conditions of heating, hydrogen pressure and the presence of a catalyst, the light gasoline fraction (or naphtha) obtained by distillation of crude oil is converted into high-octane gasoline (reformed gasoline) rich in aromatics, and A process that by-produces liquefied petroleum gas and hydrogen. Reformed gasoline can be used directly as a blending component of gasoline, and can also be extracted from aromatics to produce benzene, toluene and xylene. The by-product hydrogen is an important source of hydrogen for hydrogenation units (such as hydrofinishing and hydrocracking) in petroleum refineries.
